Warner Park

The Madison Park and Pleasure Drive Association formed this 215-acre park in the 1930s when Ernest Warner was its president. Named after Ernest Warner (1868-1930)



Warner Park Statue of Liberty
8˝ feet tall and sits atop an 8-foot base, Made of Copper, Cost of $350 plus freight
First placed in Giddings Park in 1951, moved to Warner Park in 1971 after it was vandalized, however the worst damage occurred when a dump truck backed into it while it was in city storage.

The statue was one of more than 200 replicas of the Statue of Liberty presented to communities around the United States from 1949 to 1952 by the Boy Scouts of America as part of a 40th anniversary project to “strengthen the arm of liberty.”
