Forest Hill records list Donald's death in 1944, but it was 1945

World War II - Donald was killed in action at the battle of Iwo Jima

First buried in a grave on Iwo Jima, repatriated to Forest Hill four years later

   

Brothers Galen Junior and Donald are the namesakes of VFW Post 7591 in Madison.
