  • Howard M. Temin  Dec 10, 1934 - Feb 9, 1994
  • Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 1975
  • The UW's Lakeshore Path is dedicated to Howard.
  • A long-time advocate against smoking, and never
    a smoker himself, Temin died at the age of 59
    from lung cancer.



  • John H. Van Vleck  Mar 13, 1899 - Oct 27, 1980
  • 1977 Nobel Prize for research in atomic structure.
  • Graduated form Madison High School in 1916.
