A brick maker in Madison. Two men discovered Prendl's body "severely gashed and mutilated, and solidly frozen."
Found wearing a full set of clothes, that did not bear any cut marks, which led police to believe that he had been
stabbed somewhere else, redressed, and then dumped. His killer was never caught.
